I'm moving next Monday and don't currently have internet at my house! I do still have internet at work and on my phone, so I am reachable, but it's not terribly convenient for threading, and plus I'm packing and stuff. So I probably won't be around! So I have been replaying Vesperia! And I finally got to the mid-game sidequests that are relevant to Raven that I haven't seen since the first time I played the game. I haven't been able to find them on YouTube, presumably because they are easily missable, and they are not particularly hilarious because they involve Raven being serious/responsible instead of just hitting on women badly.

...There is only a little bit of hitting on women badly in these scenes. :|b

Anyway I have transcribed them and I'm putting them here for future reference.

Currently failing spectacularly at sleep, so I will finally post this!

Raven went home with Yuri, Flynn and Judith, of course. After deep reflection, I think I'm going to assume he did not get laid; it's kind of a big deal for him and I wouldn't know how to play it without knowing how it happened, and honestly I have no idea how it would happen with the time pressure involved and the amount of other sexing that needs to occur. SO. Unless my castmates want to thread something out or work out the precise logistics of our beach party in excruciating detail, I will say that Raven got super awkward and flaily if the subject even arose and ran off to run Rita's errands (and a few of his own) while they had their threesome. Either way post-vacation threads should happen soon.

Perscitia, at Temeraire's invitation, went to visit Temeraire's mother in China. She was horribly (unintentionally) rude, of course, and required translators, but she had a great time. She spent time talking to scholar dragons and admiring the city, didn't sleep for the entire day, and possibly even convinced people to translate and read some books for her. She came back excited and full of new ideas and is currently in kind of a sulk that Temeraire isn't around for her to talk to about them.

In about 24 hours I will be leaving for the airport, and about 24 hours after that I will be back in Seattle! Blah blah out of contact, blah blah probable exhaustion and jetlag for a few days, it's not like I've been threading reliably lately anyway so the most important part is that when it's done, I will be back on my usual timezone! (PST.)

I will spend 14 hours on a plane in order to arrive before I left. It is the most depressing kind of time travel, you guys.

OKAY I guess I might as well post this. However it is subject to change if something earthshaking happens in the next couple of weeks or if I think of something better, because I'm pretty sure Raven would not actually be planning this far ahead.

Yuri and Flynn get a joint gift of quite a lot of handmade chocolates. (They're kind of messy, and made with Splenda of course, but pretty good.)
Naoto gets a necklace like this one and flowers*.
Judith gets a yukata, kind of similar to her bathhouse one but purple with gold accents (It's pretty! Stop making fun of my color scheme!), and flowers*.
Estelle gets an LED book light like this one and flowers*.
Rita gets a punching bag and candles with flowers painted on them.

* - Naoto and Judith's are identical, generic, store-bought bouquets. Estelle's is a different generic bouquet that is much more pink. Raven is perfectly willing to make up elaborate explanations for the meanings of each of the flowers in them on demand.

That's probably about as far as he gets with personalized gifts, because he's kind of lazy, but in addition all women of his acquaintance (that he's talked to at all) get sweets of some kind. He has a big bag of candy and baked goods and goes around letting people pick stuff out. It's moderately sketchy. Men of his acquaintance also get some if you bug him, because he's a pushover.

Probably no one but me pays this much attention to my threads, but-- I feel like Raven's accent has been particularly inconsistent lately, and I feel like I should let people know that this is pretty much always deliberate!

General overview:
- Raven's accent is affected! He didn't start using it until a few years before he came to camp, and he spent that time constantly switching back and forth between using it and not using it. He is perfectly capable of speaking entirely without it.
- The way I play it, his accent will occasionally slip a bit when he's particularly serious/tired/distracted/etc.
- Canon kind of supports this in a few places, but mostly his accent in canon is just uneven in general due to poor editing, to the point where there's at least one skit where they just forget to transcribe his accent entirely.
- I'm pretty sure I'm therefore a bit inconsistent with canon in that I have set rules for myself. For instance, he only uses "yer" for "your" and not "you're" because otherwise it hurts me grammatically. He will use "to" instead of "ta" or "you" instead of "ya" if it's a stressed syllable, because that's what it sounds like. Etc.

As for typing, this is what I have decided, after much thought:
- While he was getting used to computers Raven used speech recognition as input most of the time, and camp laptops being what they are, they faithfully transcribed his accent.
- At this point he does most of his own typing, but he still types out his accent, mostly to be obnoxious.
- He will, however, occasionally quit it if he's trying to be serious.
- Or if he's trying to be anonymous.
